Country mile

Country mile

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

For a laugh

"
She wore a toffee coloured wig
To the country ball
All she wanted was a little swig
Or three of that
Sweet gin flavoured lemonade

There she stood so
Meek and mild
And wasn’t long before
She was asked to dance

Her skirts flew up
And billowed
Like a pony on the dance floor
She galloped around a while

The men looked in with glee
What a pretty filly they could see
All the stallions
Made their way
And brother could she dance that country
Mile

Before long
She needed to graze
And graze she did at table fare
Egg and cucumber sandwiches
Pavlova and strawberry on cream
And oysters prawns and beef so rare

Wasn’t long
Before her wig
Had jam and cream
Decorated there
Her lipstick faded
Into the night
There she sat
A glutton a filly
What a sore sight

Wasn’t long
Before She took his hand
As he asked her up to dance
Once more
He flung her
So high up
In the air
Only problem
Her
Toffee coloured
Wig came down
With a thud
On his head
And he licked
Sweet creamy remnants there

The filly and the stallion
Laughed into the night
Never minding her
Hairless head
He’d found his match
That sweet
Hot night

They galloped into sunset
Every night
With new wigs he
Bought her
Every week

And she smugly
Neighed to all who wished
Her well
I found my stallion of the night
Look no hair have I
But come see my room of
A hundred wigs
My stallion
Of the dancing night
Who fondles my bald
Head every night
Bought me these
Fair wigs I say all mine

Till one day
She saw him trying
Then all on
They looked quite Devine
The blonde suits you dear
So this is why you bought me these

No no my sweet
They are all for you

But she saw him
For who he was
A filly in that stallion mind
She could no longer live
With him

And traded him in
For a life alone

She took most of her wigs
To her new home
But left him one
To remember her by
The toffee coloured wig
Spoiled with
Pavlova and a good splash
Of gin
For good measure
In there

hi
i have given promise to him, i hadnt seen him, but married God in the form of him, served everyone of them, Now i am left alone, not knowing what is happening to me and waiting when he is going to take my responsibility by coming forward.
