![]() DiggingsA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
They cheered
Like a bonfire lit up Roaring Embers flying They had found it No not a gold nugget A pebble A diamond in the rough They knew it’s worth He looked around The earth was smiling The wind was humming The insects buzzing The sun beat down hard Who had cheered? There was no one there Just old him and his BAg of tools He cheered with the rest Took a swig of the best Went home to his dusty shade His little place way out west © 2020 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
