And so this is xmas

Another fire started
Just as that one disappeared

The fireman are exhausted
God give them.a burst of energy here
To all the fireman from Aust Nz Canada and USA and volunteers I just want to thank you so much
For breaking your backs
And unwavering fears and bravery here
So I hope it’s a good one
Without too many more tears
And so this is xmas and a happy new year
Let’s these fires be over
No more shedding of tears

As my son-in-law is a Fìrefighter in Adelaide, we are keeping a close watch on the news of this dreadful disaster. If only it would rain..... Our thoughts are with all those affected. at this time when it should be cheerful...
Your poem, Julie, therefore brings home the reality of living in a climate that creates these sort of conditions.
