Telling timeA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)![]() Writing as I go![]()
Time waits for no one
The saying goes Time is a wasting He said as he went Packing all his clothes Time heals all pain Time doesn't stand still She shrilled Time makes things fade Time is a healer They said to ease the grief Time as from the beginning To its end Time and time again I hear the rhymes I hear the time As day goes into night And dawn to day As moon and stars gently Slip away We measure our life Like some fluid once In time Shouldn't we be measuring Time instead Time is eternal Not in It's ounces of our day Neatly basted baked Like flour in some cake That never rises To be eaten up that way Time should be Ignored Oh that I please implore Julie mccarthy 26 aug 2017 © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Author's Note
