Friday

Friday

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

Written with morning coffee

"
Friday morning
Long last you have arrived
You see that teardust
In mine eyes

I wipe away my grit and sleep
And get up slowly to my feet
I dont know how I work all week
I somehow thinks I deserve
Some medal for this feat

My coffees hot
My bones are not
My toast is spread
With that dreaded
But much loved
Oz concncuction spread

I gulp it down
One more round to go
The heaters on
It's still cold in Sydney
You all know

I dream of tonight
With my tracksuit on
And ugh boots to dance
With music on
I dream of weekend
Sleep in bliss
And quickly make a shopping list

Great wonderful your Friday. In very beautiful creation of words and your soul.

even though i don't drink coffee, i like that stanza the best....

the bones have trouble catching up to what our mind thinks we can do....

the slow arrival of the rest of us.
