Awake

Awake

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

Sighing
Sniffling
Half human cough
Snoring ceases
Stretching
Prancing found room
Scratching
More sighing
More sniffs
He's awake
He woke me up
He yawns
I yawn
Time to rise
It's not husband
It's not boyfriend
Just as demanding though
He trots off ahead of me
To kitchen
With me in tow
So slow

I know that's exactly what my three cats do to me lol... they bat me in the face until I get up and go to the kitchen and feed them lol..

Scratching and sniffling? My guess? Dog. My cats are ninja silent until they jump on my head, or try to steal my breath by putting their mouths almost on mine. This is short and very sweet.
