'Twas hotA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)![]() Nothing consoles you when bad news hits You walk like a ghost Have no taste![]()
The drink
The tea 'Twas hot And sweet She was so Unsteady on those feet The news The terrible news Her sister passed on Nothing could hold her steady Now Not even her Hot strong sweet tea Or her strong gentle mother The tea 'twas hot The tea sweet and strong And hot like that Yet both tasted it not They may as well have been Drinking mud They will never forget This day This terrible day The two they sat Salted sweet tears mixed in those hot sweet drinks They tasted it not It choked like mud It tasted like An ocean of salt Of tears and fears and Guilty years And that 'twas that No tea leaf reader Could of predicted that And that was that The drink ''twas hot It comforted not And that was that © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
