Last poemA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)I'm imagining I'm dying and this is my last fling with pen before I go try to listen to on u tube music the following 'oh very young one" by CAt Stevens.
Don't be sad
Cos this ain't so very bad I've lived loved hated made mistakes and buried quite a few I've bore kids and been a young and pretty bride I've travelled on a boat across the seas And even done a horseback ride I've slept near campfire in my youth And looked up to the Milky Way Before my eyes closed for that day I've flown to three places That's more than most I've lied on beaches in my youth and I've felt warm like hot buttered oily toast I've gone for dips in ocean blue And caught maybe a crab and a fish too I've seen my share of sunsets sunrises and moons and stars I've eaten lollies after school And kept fun diaries like we do I've loved more than one man through my years And eaten Chinese through break up tears I've raised my kids and proud of them But not sure I'll ever be a nan I've had my fun my share of tears And so my dear I think it's my time now to Maybe Gently SLOWLY SILENTLY disappear © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Featured Review
