listen did you hear it? i love the guitar softly strummed so i love the poem that they sang it was about us did you know? but you arent here no more here i sit on our old park bench just like in the song the ducks are waiting the newspapers been read the wind it howls the moon doesnt shine it must be dead its your funeral tomorrow old mate of mine just take me back to us as young men working in that dirty cold mine id swap it for a day with you to be young and so sublime and strong yet times got away my friend and my mate i tell ya youve gone to a better place than mine so old friends old friends oh yes a time it was as they sang old friends. © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Author's Note
