the apology

the apology

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

none needed

"
she said she was sorry
he said ok
they tried to make it work
he said it would be just the same
it never was
it never will be
the sorry left half dead up in the air
it never really reached him
because he didnt care

they went about their business
they tried to make a life
the sorry it just stayed there
half way in that night
that night that she said sorry
that night so long ago
it just stayed in limbo
on shoulders uncaring so

the bittersweet sorry
the half empty reply of his ok
it should of made her realise
then and there
that he would never care
now shes wasted years and years
on a man that never really
wanted her to care

This is sadly very truthful of us imperfect humans. Too bad too.

Words can have little meaning when spoken by a person who don't need love. The poem had a honest tone leading to a very sad ending. Thank you Julie for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Julie.
It is a shame that sometimes "being sorry" isn't enough. But at least it is a start, but as you beautifully point out, sometimes it just isn't enough.
