Map and a KnifeA Poem by Julianne Burch
Here eyes were dark,
dark as her heart. Full with feelings of hate. Disappointment is all I can see, all I can hear. I knew this could never last; all the issues caused over time and time again. I turn around and hear prejudice comments. Every time I hear my name; Its like a stab in the back. Every time these scars get deeper, Because this isn't the first you have wounded me. I told you everything, handing you a map and a knife. Telling you exactly where you can damage me. My only mistake is trusting that you never would.
