TO My Dear Friends Here

TO My Dear Friends Here

A Story by Julian
"

short note

"
My Dear Friends-
Just a quick note of thanks to you all for your kindness in your reviews over the last weeks. Since you are all accomplished writers, I will let you construct your own story of the reason for my absence-
I was (1) shanghaied aboard a tramp steamer bound for New Zealand, kept in the large crate marked "Perishable Goods" and only allowed out for my genius in plotting new courses across the seas, then given a bowl of gruel and locked up again. OR
(2) The winner of a lottery ticket which gave me free airfare to Thailand, where I returned for the first time since the Vietnam war, and I visited the site of Madame O U Thieu's House of Ladyboy Delight where I once learned that there are more ways to stir a drink than using a swizzle stick... much to my chagrin. OR
(3) I spent over three hellish weeks fighting off the flu and a sinus infection, hardly able to sit upright, and the whole affair was made worse by the death of three of my kitties, by disease or traffic , then the depression worsened by my eldest pup developing arthritis. But regardless of which story resonates with you, dear friend, I am here at this moment, properly fed, free of diseases and hanging in. I must go again now, but in the famous words of Johann Sebastian, I'll be Bach. Love to you  all.

Your third, looks most feasible Julian. Sad to read I might add. Good though to find you back here with a post. And if you have suffered from flu and you have lost any of your critters, I send my kindest thoughts for recovery of ill health and your loss. All the very best to you.

Chuckling here - because the story resonated with my sense of the ridiculous and understanding of the facets of reality. The Flu bites in many ways and yet with different levels of sickness. We each have our own reasons for writing and try hard to expand our abilities. I found a good pause here reading your thoughts... and will come back to see your growth.

I would say...the 3rd option. Because the higher two don't read too imaginative and one can tell its a flight of fancy, immediately. (A stilted one at that) The 2nd option is embarrassingly overboard.

This is an amateur writing site if I read the print correctly. Accomplished? Not really and not technically. Just emotionally maybe.

Accomplished writers, huh? That flu is messing with your head, brah! There are people in this world dying of terminal illnesses and you need comfort for a flu? Reality check, brah, reality check.

Stop writing. You can't. Simple as that. Cough, cough, wheez. P***y
My predictions:
1) That almost sounded fictitious but I'm afraid to ask how did you think of that.
2) That note on the food stall was very detailed but the chance of winning a lottery ticket is slim and I doubt a free airfare to Thailand accompanies it.
3) This one is unfortunately most realistic scenario, I'm sorry for your losses and wish for your well-being.
4) Please tell me this is not actually 1 truth and 2 lies.
Regardless, I'm glad to hear from you again, author Julian.
