Rose

Rose

A Poem by Julian

The visitors stroll the Royal Garden;
Admiring the Rose, they stop-
to praise its heavenly scent,
discuss its radiant beauty,
compose haiku to its brilliant hues,
and praise the King for his marvelous works!
And then they move on.

The gardener comes then, to sit beside the Rose;
He smiles a secret smile,
for he alone knows every petal and every thorn;
He alone loves this Rose, in its truth -
As it is, and all in all.

This was beautiful so thoughtful. I loved the line “as it is” because isn’t that how we all want to be loved. “As we are”
