Almost AlwaysA Poem by Julia Ledo
You will always be my almost
My half full becoming half empty The angel's share of the best wine. My almost lover Just a minute too late Or a moment too soon The would be's and could have been's An epic love story But a page behind You will always be my almost The road less traveled The uncharted trail The eighth wonder of the world Already discovered And I never got to see it You were something I couldn't have Like a child I still reached You will always be my almost And its not nearly okay That we almost were We could have been an always Very nearly star-crossed But it was something with gravity and magnetic pull We could have been the greatest And I hold her no grudge It's just You will always be my almost And always her been there done that
