Mary MaryA Poem by Julia Ledo
Contrary to popular belief
I have never felt the fingers of my own darling Intertwined in mine Palm to palm Even when it's hot And your rings are just slightly too big But your clammy hands Hold on Because you both feel the gravitational pull from your fingertips The magnetic resistance Stopping you from pulling away shaking the sweat from your skin Saying "its much too hot" Contrary to popular belief There hasn't been a morning yet Where I've woken up to the sunrise And have been able to think of my own love Compare it to the brilliance of our kiss And find that even the sun falls short Of the color behind my eyelids When your lips meet mine But I don't know them yet Or if I ever will Quite contrary © 2015 Julia LedoReviews
