Decently

Decently

A Poem by Julia Ledo
"

Im on a writing therapy kick

"
You dont owe me anything
Except maybe a bit of human decency
I know that what I have to say
It's not your cup of tea
But the least you could do
Is simply humor me
I didnt leave home
To sit silent at another dinner table
Smile politely,
Nod, eat
And listen to you
Oh so decently

God, I hate people like this. Maybe it's just because I want it to be, but this seems like a really great feminist poem. I like the half rhymes in here too. TALK OVER THEM. TALK OVER ALL OF THEM AND BE LOUD. Because you are a SMART woman and you should NEVER be silenced. F**k human decency. If it isn't being given to you, refuse to give it. Instead, MAKE them hear you.

I like this,, i like the buildup, it goes from predictable to quite good. Well done!
