Love Is In The Air And I'm In The Water

Love Is In The Air And I'm In The Water

A Poem by Open Your Mind Before Your Mouth
"

I wrote this before I left my husband. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in relationships that are pointless, with no passion. Those aren't the right relationships.

"

Love Is In The Air And I'm In The Water

Scratch. Scratch. Scratch.
Can anyone hear me?
(I think it's empty)
An empty space
Laid to waste
Waste away
Until there's nothing
(Left)
For me to do
Til I'm filled up to the neck
In regrets
And as they fill me up
I wonder
(Is this all there is?)
Is this the kind of love
That ravers rave about?
Is this it?
Where is it?
(The passion, the fire, the carnal desire)
Hidden
Under a rock
But a rock
Is all I have in this coffin
(It's all I have)
And it's all I can do to stay above
The water.
Scratch. Scratch. Scratch.
Is this life's path?

This is deep and yet mesmerizing all our life we seek for love, sometimes even in a crowd of people who claim they love us still we are alone...i was lost in your poetry. Thought provoking and connecting directly with soul. Love the title and every single word of yours was filled with honesty...your pain can easily be felt and I'm sure many will feel related with such an amazing work of yours. Your writing is pure magic...

Oh my! This is so so good!!! scary narration- the sense of being buried alive and drowning in fear. I love the included self questioning, it makes the narrator sound more desperate and alone in his/her struggle. This is going into my library!- although it should be going in a book. Excellent write!
