SUPERSTRUCTURES

SUPERSTRUCTURES

A Poem by Julie Grenness
"

Inspired by the daily news.

"

SUPERSTRUCTURES.

Skyscrapers in every nation,

Signs of mankind's aspirations,

Millions of plebs face starvation,

No dwellings for them, deprivation,

No, skyscrapers they keep building,

How many lilies are they gilding?

What else could they be doing?

You have an astounding ability to take something as simple as the news and turn it into a worded picture of saddened beauty. I can see and feel the pain that is expressed here. How much more will it have to take to make people see? Exquisite.
