![]() Ode to Chicken NuggetsA Poem by JulietteOde to Chicken Nuggets I’ve been grabbing at your crispy golden skins, ever since my fingers were just grubby stubs, dwarfed by your kiddy friendly nuggets. Happiness in a meal,
you called me away from Ronald and my friends. In the days of jungle gyms and bright ball burials, hurrying to your tender taste, gave me shocking hair, a static dandelion silhouette.
Months ago, my hands grown, still
reached for your juicy white essence. Youthful lover but a lifelong affair, ended by a viral internet picture. The double exposure of what you are, guaranteed the end of my satisfaction.
All white meat is cloudy dead eyes, infected intestines and curled tasteless talons. Mr. McDonald grinds my childhood
bliss into pink tubular goo. You’re mechanically
manufactured, With billions served Under those yellow arches.
Delicious saucy Judas! I crave your slimy deception, dyed and poison polished. Classified as dog scraps, you fed me lies. The memories will forever turn my stomach. Just change, my dear nuggets. Stop teasing me, you sketchy chick. © 2014 JulietteAuthor's Note
