Lie to Me

Lie to Me

A Poem by Jenneka

I don’t want to hear the truth.

Lie to me please, that’s all I want from you.

Please don’t say that I was nothing.

Even though I know that it’s true.

I don’t want to let you go.

Lie to me please; I just don’t want to know.

Don’t tell me that you hate me,

Before you leave me alone.

I don’t want to forget.

Lie to me please, don’t tell me you regret.

Tell a beautiful tale

Of how our paths are set.

I don’t want to see you differently.

Lie to me please; tell me that you love me.

You can’t hold me in your arms,

But don’t leave me in your misery.

I don’t want to lose hope.

Lie to me please; say you’re at the end of your rope.

I know you have a choice,

But try to lie and tell me that you don’t.

I don’t want to hear the truth.

Lie to me please, that’s all I want from you.

Please don’t say that I was nothing,

Even though I know that it’s true.
