Broken Home

Broken Home

A Poem by Jenneka

A home isn’t a home if your cold and alone.

You’re heart’s in the same place, but what’s filled it has now gone.

All you see are their shadows, though you know you’re on your own.

You wish with all your heart, just to reap the seams you’ve sewn.

But the walls in this house are starting to crack.

And the dim lights now have faded to black.

You snap " flash-back to retrace your tracks,

And you’d give it all up to erase"take it back.

No one can fix the home I have broken.

No one can unspeak the words I have spoken.

I’ll stay out of your way, but keep on hoping

Unwelcoming doors will someday be open.

So let me sit in this rotting house alone

And stare at the decay, which once was our happy home

I’ll be watching"waiting, your obedient slave,

But if you never come back, I guess this house will be my grave.

I'm so sorry to hear this but it is a very excellent poem. ANd I can really relate to it. My home was also always broken because of an alocholic parent.
