It's Okay

It's Okay

A Poem by HB Harrison

It’s okay, I say sitting next to her bed.

She doesn’t reply but I know that

she can hear me. Because

otherwise, It’d be useless.

Talking to her, I mean.

If she couldn’t hear

Me, Then she’d

Be gone.

And I

Can’t

Lose

Her.

I might not know your exact situation but I do believe that they can hear us. There are far too many anecdotes of it happening to be a complete coincidence every time.
This was rather emotional. It was stoic but the peculiar sort of grief that occurs before someone has technically died spoke through the words powerfully. You could really feel the emotion in it.
