The Song of Life

The Song of Life

A Poem by Juan Victor

The beat of life goes on and on,

the eggs hatched and kids play catch.

The trees are grown and then their leaves are blown.

Parents go for a walk, so they can talk.

Games are played. Houses are built and their paints fade.

School starts and ends, it is alive as long as pupils are sent.

Priests are sworn and sinner’s sinned, but we try to avoid God’s thorn.

People live as they should, but death is here for good.

The beat of life goes on and on.
