The little touch

The little touch

A Story by Jon Roggie

Silicone bundt muffins
Whatever you call the little cups.
This season will be challenging.
I might spend as much time delivering as cooking.
And to be honest,
the dessert can define the meal.
This year a lemon theme.
A small lemon bundt cake,
  touch of cinnamon,
    topped with lemon curd,
      dollop of cream,
        fanned strawberry,
maybe a mint leaf.
Back to peeling potatoes.

More so in these restrictive days do we find delight and newly found appreciation for the smallest of touches that can turn the smallest consideration into an event of its own.
It does raise a question though, of why more of us aren't doing it, now that we have the time on our hands and such gestures would be appreciated most right about now.
I don't know about you, but I certainly am thinking of lemon drizzle cake right now... To the kitchen! 😊
