i remember cornfields in Missouri, as a kid going down the rows searching for Box Turtles...
they would bury themselves in the soil...just parts of their shells showing.
and the crows would never come because they were scared of the scarecrow.
I followed the yellow brick road.

We had snapping turtles in the reservoirs, and tortoises where ever they might roam. Entertainment in the early '70's!
