Building on a pebble

Building on a pebble

A Poem by Jon Roggie

You find a title,
 next comes the story.
Run with the challenge.

Toe straining,
  barely keeping contact.
Pebble rolling.
  Shifting beneath the nail.

Balanced
  moving with the currents twirling

Reach out another toe,
and catch a shell drifting by,
     maybe catch along the pebble

I like your open the brevity and simplicity is just charming

sometimes the poems just roll out of us like a tide rolling out to sea, and leaving on the shore a
configuration of pebbles that tell a story.

I must have an inner ear infection Jon, as I can't even stay upright long enough to think of a title these days. Not so much writers block, as "Well, the notepad and pen will still be there when I get back."
My head is so unexpectedly calm and quiet these days, that although I miss writing, I don't want too interrupt having nothing but air on my mind.
Even if I've broken it, as long as it doesn't rattle when I walk I'll be happy 😀

Roll with it, my friend, even with the inner ear infection. Call it a break.
Dear Jon, you had me kicking a pebble on the beach. I enjoyed that very much. You brought out my inner child on this sunny Friday morning. Hope you are well my friend. Keep safe in these troubled times.
