Storylines demanding attention

Storylines demanding attention

A Story by Jon Roggie

I snuck out for a bit.

Battle of egos,
as far as I am concerned.
Each one demanding their proper place,
while shrugging away the other's claims.
Each being a little more belligerent.

So,
using the time-honored method of non-capitulation,
I shifted my attention.

I decide to create something new.

I want to let the previous statement sink into the depths of the reader's mind.

The solution to the problem of demanding storylines is to create a new one.

Each unique,
but all suffering from the same affliction,
which of course is a lack of attention.

Hmmm,
  be quiet now.

They might be listening.
I haven't talked about them for awhile,
   and their demands are growing.

Especially the gnome's.

If I had written this piece Jon, it would most likely be titled thepost-it note avalanche.
I have tried struggling along in inspirations wake, hoping to cheat and catch up before she is ready to return. Now, i live amongst fragments that will one day find a home and feel that warm fuzzy feel of completion. But until then, i daren't movetoo quickly, for fear of creating a draft thatwill become a sticky yellow avalanche, just like in my anxiety dreams. 😀
Ironically, i am always miles from the nearest post-it when it does finally click into place.

story lines and poetry inspirations hate it when we ignore them, or put them on the shelf or in the cupboard for safekeeping for a later date...you can hear them growling from behind the door...
like little gnomes...gruff in their displeasure...
we can't avoid them for long.

All we can do is cajole them, and sneak in a new addition once in awhile.
