Peacemaker

Peacemaker

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Once again for those in the back,
Why?
The debate is irrelevant.
Facts are chosen on the bounce.
Better for the spin.
This is what you give me?
Sorry if I choose to ignore,
  less blame to you,
    and play my own way.
I might be irrational.
It is all a wandering road,
 being a peacemaker,
if only to find a path.
One where we are finally at home.

This reads of chisell-jawed determination, a silhouette on the setting sun, and living with just their thoughts until they reach their destination.
They may just be treading a path that others will one day follow.
In my mind they have erected a sign, naming the place Ole Roggie way in your honour Jon.

someone i know of lately has certainly chosen his facts on the bounce....and most of them bounce like bad checks...
the speaker here is not irrational...
he is a peacemaker trying to find home, but there is something between him and home.
and it could be war.

Peacemakers are to be celebrated. There are certainly enough warmongers out there these days. We live in troubled times. Do your own thing and do it well.

At the wizened age of 53, I must agree. Life would be better that way.

Jon
Well, as the fellow said, blessed are the peacemakers. When you find that path, please let me know.
