One big meal

One big meal

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Just stop by.
That being said,
 I do need some warning.
Open invitation to friends,
since you should become part of the family.
Now,
I should have at least a week head-start.
Some things take longer to thaw.
Also,
send notice of any dietary restrictions.
I might roll my eyes,
but I am sure to be able to manage.
Time it right,
you might be able to pick oranges from the trees.
Dart board will be open.

Thank you for the invitation.
What is the occasion for celebration?

Fruits, veggies and nuts are much appreciated
And if you serve icecream and coffee, I will be delighted.
