One more day, and then time to get to work

One more day, and then time to get to work

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I admit it.
People in the States are a touch insane.

This week is no different.

I will spend hours preparing food for three people.

Not that it won't be enjoyed,
but I know what I can do.

The process is only a little different for three versus a thousand.

Before you ask why I don't do it,
it is because I have been fixated on two people.
Once it was three,
 either way,
   that was my job.

I am growing bored.

Makes me get creative.

Cheesecake,
 and pies,
   all made from scratch.

Ten are as easy as one.

All I need are the supplies,
 and a few helping hands.
Even the shopping is simple.
I packed a freezer in fifteen days,
and only used two hundred dollars.
I still have a fifty dollar credit.

Even bought a gravy boat.
  Surprise for the niece.
She thought it looked cute.

It made me start to think.

Why not use what I know?

Time to reach out,
 and see.

Yeah, but when it comes to thanksgiving, im a little jealous that om not that flavour of insane. If it were up to me, thanksgiving would replace every holiday. Well, except hogmonay and new years day, they are our birthday and xmas all wrapped into one round these here parts.
