I don't fully understand

A response to "the inevitable chill" by jacob erin-cilberto. I can't write like he does.

Somethings are not there.

  Maybe not used.

Blame a solitary life.

Somethings are private.

  Broke barriers to reach them.

I choose not to share.

Easier to share the world around me.

I can explain that.

I can talk of pain,

 and loss.

Love?

 Only a shadow.

Part of a solitary life.

i don't even understand what or how i write most of what i do...still trying to get it all into perspective...
Love used to shine...but i feel it now more as a shadow than anything else...but it is good fuel for writing...all those hidden chambers being unlocked.
As Lorry said...admitting is often finding..or at least getting onto the road of it.

Either way, you do it very well.

Sometimes the words simply flow.

The title set an alarm bell off in my head that shouted what a good title for my life story. Somewhere along my life and in my writing, I found that the saying "write what you know", was being replaced by all the things I don't understand. Maybe I didnt get to ask enough questions at school and was left with numerous blind spots in my knowledge. What else can explain why I didnt know know until my late thirties, that someone who called themselves Ms, was not necessarily a lesbian. That may appear sexist, but it is true.
Perhaps admitting these things is how we find the missing answers.

Some of my best works are the titles!
As time passes,
most of learn odd things concerning ourselves.
Often ones which make us shake our heads.
I can say with a straight face,
this is not my case.
I used to work in customer service.

Yes. I need to mention those things. I can't write the same type of words. It wouldn't feel honest. I don't have that touch. I have mentioned it to him before. Time for a quick edit.

and it feels natural.
I luck in once in awhile,
but normally it sounds forced.

Each to their own Jon, Jacob does his thing very well as do you. Nowt worse than writing and feeling as thought have done it for the wrong reason, mainly because you feel it's what others want.

One of things I have learned is you write from yourself. I like to play, and maybe be serious now, and again. I still want to sneak into the back of one of Jacob's classes!
