Ultrasound was a new experience

Ultrasound was a new experience

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Not something I was expecting,
but when the doctor tells you,
might as well roll along with it.

I didn't realize how warm the gel was going to be.
 Felt nice.
Nice contrast to the temperature outside.

My only problem was I was unable to see the picture.

Even if I have no clue what is being shown,
 I would like a glance.

I have to wait.

Well,
at least there were no screams,
and I am not in quarantine.

Really, you couldn't see?
When you're a pregnant woman (only time I ever had ultrasound), they face the monitor so you can see it.
I didn't know they ever faced it away from the patient.
So happy there were no screamin' and quarantinin', though!
