Communicating with the dog

Communicating with the dog

A Poem by Jon Roggie

This can be challenging.
I have three sheets over my blanket.
Easier to sleep in the cold.
  One sheet gives comfort.
    Another story.
Why three?
In the morning I can wash two.
She moves around the bed,
and waits til I finally move in.
  Might stay,
but the door needs to be open.
While I write this,
I am waiting for a look.
Pleading for something.
  Go outside?
   Wanting more food?
Usually the second.
  Besides,
   if it is the first,
I am required to go along.
Might be challenging.

'Communicating with the dog'
Jon Roggie,
Yup, I get where your coming from here. When we adopt a dog or dogs we sign up for a real commitment. We people may have no idea what we have signed up for but soon we know life will never be the same. I really enjoyed your step by step 'walk' through the process of a day to night at your house with your family member.I have a spaniel family member at my house. Clever and really cute write.
Blessings,
kathy

Best to you Kathy!
Why do I feel that on putting down your pen, you sighed, shook your head and said "oh, alright then), as you unfurl yourself from the covers and reach for the leash? :)
Although im not a dog owner, I have recently been adopted by a neighbours collie, so I do empathise with you when you get that look from them.
Personally, I think that dogs are just better at pretending that we are in charge and we "own" them. Reality shows us otherwise :)

Now and again, I am required to assert my alpha status. I hope they see it the same way!
Not having a dog, I really think I've missed out. Sadly I can't wield much influence in that area, in my household. Cat lovers here.
