It would work

It would work

A Story by Jon Roggie

By now,
 it should be obvious.
I never know where my mind might go.
It does have a mind of its own.
It does take off when it comes to food.
"Why shouldn't I make an inside out caramel apple?"
  Trust me.
   Delicious.
You can even cook them on an outside grill.
The thing is the voice sounds reasonable,
   and due to experience,
there is a bit of doubt.
Listened before to my eventual displeasure,
and those often didn't involve food.
Now,
 picture this.
You have over a hundred freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
All of them are in a rather large bowl.
One quart of milk should reach the top.
All you need is a spoon.
Showing an unusual touch of common sense,
 I walked away.
Picture the image though.
It would be glorious!
