I hold up my hand

I hold up my hand

A Story by Jon Roggie

Not a fist,
 an open palm.

The hand trembles

Too old for this s**t.

Repetition of words said before.

Stretch my fingers.

Next,
 I will make cookies.

And before you know it, the line will change to "the repitition of cookies made before."
The repitition is seen or heard by the narrator, not the audience. Each piece you write is a slice of another moment that we see more glimpses of the life behind the words.

Thoughts to self are usually more honest.
You only have to explain them to yourself!
It's good to bake cookies Jon. I always find it relaxing and a distraction from other stuff. How's life?

You take care now. Ridiculously early in the morning this side of the pond.
I can relate to your challenges. After neck surgery I could not feel the keys to type for a year or so. Getting my hands back was a huge gift & your poem reminds me to be thankful (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

There ye go, not explainin' yerself, Jon, just like ye threatened in yer profile.
Don't know what ye mean with that hand thingie...but I did hear somethin' about cookies. I know what that means, and I'm in!
