Creating new myths

Creating new myths

A Story by Jon Roggie

We have an interesting challenge.
We are writing on a wall.
Our words may not be remembered,
but the thoughts behind them may linger.
The wall will slowly erode,
 words lost.
Meanings caught only in memories of the passerby.
Since I have a touch of hubris,
I like to think they will remember the tortoise.
Words of nonsense hiding emotion,
 and a touch of learning
I have a little spot down in the corner.
It is often hidden by the blowing sand.
Realizing the words might be nonsense,
 there is still a possibility.
They might be remembered.
Time passes,
 and the meaning changes.
Words do seem to change.
If nothing else,
somebody might wonder what is a tortoise.

Or wonder what a wall is :)
Words do change, we do change. It is as much as we can do to keep up with them both enough to keep making sense...of sorts.
One day hopefully, everything, including us will get synchronized and it will all make more sense. I just hope its not Microsoft windows or the planet will fall off its axis waiting for the glitches to be fixed :)

I often feel like I have fallen into a Talking Heads song.
If there still IS somebody when there are no more tortoises.
The wall, at least, will still be around for a while.
It will take a long time for the blowing sand to erode it.
However, consider this: the eroded wall will slowly become blowing dust or sand, and the echoes of all you have written will circle the globe with that dust, written forever on the wind.
We all go on forever, in one way or another.
We leave our mark across the skies.

I have been here for a few years, and still don't know what I am doing!

You're in good company, Jon. I wonder, sometimes, if ANYBODY does. Especially me!
