This might not end well

This might not end well

A Story by Jon Roggie

Walk out in the morning,
while taking the dogs out to the backyard,
  and what do I see?

A Darwin Award waiting to happen.

House catty-corner to me,
and as a means of explanation,
   this means it is behind,
    but one house down.

Where was I?

Right.
  Possible chance of death.

Now,
 I am half asleep,
and merely trying to make sure the dogs make their quota.

The neighbors have a swimming pool.

Two of them are on the roof of the house.

One is around 350 pounds,
and judging by how the pools are built around here,
I know he is going to hit bottom.

The other looks to be a kid weighing less than a hundred.

The thing is I must stay silent.

If I were to yell out,
 it might startle them.

Picture bodies falling.

Trying to keep a long story short,
 there were no emergency sirens,
but there was the irritated voice of a mom.

Dogs in the neighborhood were howling.

No dives are foreseen in the future.
