That didn't work

That didn't work

A Story by Jon Roggie

I might be wrong,
but I seem to have ignored one simple thing.

Rest my hands.

So I didn't write.

Now,
since I like to pull the grey lining out of a silver cloud,
    at least my rambles paused.

How am I supposed to not use my hands?

So I didn't write.

I did manage to kill a chainsaw,
  and a weedeater.

In my defense,
the weedeater had been in use for a few years.

I blame the tree for the chainsaw.
  Chainsaw was on a warranty.
Tree.
  Your time is coming.

Also made some great fruit cubes.
 Mix of watermelon, pineapple,
   strawberries, apple, and nectarines.
Those are in the freezer.

By now,
 there is a trend,
  one easy to see.

I need to be doing something.

Trying to stay still,
while used to a life in constant motion?
Suffocating.

Instead,
 pace myself.
Doubt that will work either!

Hello Jon. Sounds like you are suffering some frustration my friend. Must be difficult to be told to rest your hands when you are so used to being active. Those fruit ice cubes are a great idea and stored nicely for use in the future. Good luck with pacing yourself. Take care.

It is life. Meanwhile, the dog decided to eat the drain hose from the washing machine.

She still gets to sleep in the bed.
Sorry to hear about your struggle with hand tremors! My writing lapses are from an opposite curse . . . when my legs are in GOOD shape, then I'll be outdoors puttering around, not sitting & writing! I used fresh peaches to make my first gummy-anything (more like jello cubes) . . . fruit later in the season isn't always as "perfect" so I'm finding new ways to make it last! As for your lapses from the café, it just helps the fondness (for you & your writing) grow stronger! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
