Trip to the storeA Story by Jon Roggie
Picking up a few more ingredients,
and I catch a few words from fellow shoppers. Not trying to listen in, but they are speaking German. I want to follow them around. Probably would look like I was stalking them. There is a lot of background on this. There are a lot of memories. I still can't believe they didn't know I was an American. At the same time, I can't believe people in my town thought I was an exchange student. Yes, it does not take too much time for me to fall into an accent. Anyway, you want to talk, but you are afraid you might startle them. Random stranger starts speaking half remembered language. I can barely speak English. Shake my head, and restrain myself.
