Odd piece of grass

Odd piece of grass

A Story by Jon Roggie

When living in a drought,
why should my lawn be green?

The roots are strong,
and the color will come back with the rain.

Patches of dirt expand,
and dry blades blow in the wind.

One doesn't look right.

Bouncing along in a wind which isn't there.

I watch.

Little praying mantis.

Same color as the dead grass.

Taking a journey through the yard.
