I think I will regret this

I think I will regret this

A Story by Jon Roggie

Despite the warnings,
I still sneak out later in the night.

My host is asleep,
so I am able to take the elevator,
   and finally reach the escalator.

I look at the slumbering beast,
and reach out to touch his shoulder.

Then,
 his eyes open.

Everyone has some form of purple people eater in the night . . . out here where elevators & escalators are not in vogue, we tip-toe up a rocky shale fire trail trying to keep the chaparral between us & it. But the monster always stirs . . . otherwise stories would be boring! *smile* Fondly, Margie

This is where it shows I get lazy. I should have combined all of these into a chapter. It is a fun.. read more
The title sets a tone.
Purple Gorilla, Moby Grape.
Campfire crackling inopportune.
Jocularity encapsulated.

Once in awhile, you just need to have some fun!
I would like to remind everyone I am writing about a giant purple gorilla.

I blame myself for this. You start to tell a story,
and off we go!
He looked at me with one weepy eye. There was only a dark hole where the other should be. The thing's face was covered in oozing sores. His breath was foul. His grin was a thing of horror stories and tall tales...

I try to get people to write. Somehow, a story with a purple gorilla attracts attention.

Same back to you! I am simply glad people enjoyed this old story!
Believe it, or not, this is one of those campfire stories. You get to embellish it as you go along. I have no clue who did the original.

I can't even tell a ridiculous tale without being side tracked. Thank you Gee, and Christine.

Gee
He smiles and gently takes my hand. From somewhere music starts playing, LIonel Richie singing " 3 times a lady"
" Relax, dance with me. Hold me close, nibble my ear, whisper sweet nothings, pretend you love me if only for three minutes"
I relaxed, "okay "

This is what happens when I try to tell a campfire story.
