A story starts a story

A Story by Jon Roggie

From the start,
 i must admit something.

I am tired.

This means I might take up the story later.

Cliffhangers are good for the heart.

A man's car breaks down on the side of the road.

He sees the light from a farm nearby.

Trudging through the mud,
  and after a few slips,
he makes it to the door.

A grudging welcome,
 combined with a twelve gauge,
does not inspire confidence.

Looking at me,
 with one dead eye,
 he says I can stay.

"Just don't touch the purple ape."

Wow, the 12 guage would be enough to scare me off, but the dead eye and the warning about the purple ape would have had me speeding away.

What happened next? A whole lot of possibilities.
