Finding your voice

Finding your voice

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I can hear a voice,
but it does not represent what I want to say.

I am irritated,
 not by the voice,
  but by everyday happenstance.

Now,
this means I could go on a rant,
but I try to avoid those.
I prefer to try to think rationally.

The voices I hear are all of my complaints.

They are trying to drown out the rest.

Life shares many voices.

I prefer the ones full of creation.
I sing along with the voices of hope.
I add mine to a wish for change.

Still,
I am searching for my voice.
