A Poem by Jon Roggie

I admit it.
It is lack of sleep.

Believe it,
 or not,
Yes I am using the old Ripley's line,
 I wind up staying awake.

So far today,
  around twenty hours.

Now,
if I was just sitting here.
Sitting the entire time.

I could write three lines,
 and it wouldn't matter.

When,
 I finally sleep,
   I am a dead man.

I have reached that point.

So,
since my dreams are so close,
I write before sleep takes hold.

I get to blame the dogs. I can't go to sleep until they do. Then, they wake me every hour.
I can't seem to stay asleep, like clock work i wake up between 4:00 am and 4:30, every single damn day...

a sign we're both not getting enough sleep :D
this is interesting to me...i find myself sleeping much less these days...as i get older...it is like i don't want to waste time with eyes closed, missing what there could be left of life, And Writing.

The barriers seem to fall. I admit it does lead to some different writes!
