Not normal

Not normal

A Story by Jon Roggie

I still don't understand.
So,
 I look.
Questions grow irritating.
I hide the change in my eyes.
That is another problem.
Do you care?
Flecks of gold merge.
Have to keep on the sunglasses.
Control my face.
My voice.
It hurts to hide.
You grow tired.
The eyes keep changing.
So,
I smile while wearing sunglasses in the dark.

You have described the precise reason I never got married in all my 62 years. I have that kind of face where the irritations flash like neon signs. I've chosen easygoing housemates of the furry variety to avoid the avoidance you describe so excruciatingly well here *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie
