Back in a booth

Back in a booth

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I like it.
Quiet.
Slice of pie,
 and a cup.
No explanations.
Smile for the lady who stops by.
You can see she is tired.
I sip my cup,
 and eat my pie.

Sometimes nice to be " alone" in a busy place. I'm a great one for people watching, can sit for hours drinking coffee and staring.

It is nice. I would even read comic books at the bar.
Sitting in a restaurant alone can be peaceful. Soothing. We don't always need the chatter.

Odd hours add to the mix.
Wasn't sure what booths are coming from the UK, are they vendors booths? Anyway Jon, there is satisfaction in your words. Simple things give the most pleasure. That pie and a cup and a smile especially for that tired lady passing, are all good. Hope you are ok

I really don't like to go to booths alone, and i don't usually. I can't remember the last time i went to a restaurant by myself, I suppose when you are a cook, it's nice when someone else does the cooking. it's especially nice that you smile at someone you know is tired.
