Tala

Tala

A Story by Jon Roggie

This is something which irritates me.
I created a few individuals.
Some were named after authors I still adore.
Others were a touch different.
For some reason,
I decided to name them using Samoan.
Now,
I have no clue if I am even saying the words properly.
I simply liked the sound of the names.
Another problem is I was writing about ideals turned into individuals.
Yes,
I admit a touch of hubris.
The thing is this just grew.
It started before the choice of names.
I don't think it will ever end.
I can write about these characters.
Funny part is Tala.
Loosely based on myself,
 and his name,
 I believe,
 roughly translates as story.
He was there before I chose a name.
I can see him.
I can't help myself.
I keep continuing a story.
So,
 now and then,
I have to go back.
Fall into a story I know I will never end.
