I will ignore the pain

I will ignore the pain

A Poem by Jon Roggie

To understand this,
 you have to feel it.

Your hands are numb,
at least until you try to make them move.

Hang your arms,
 and maybe the feeling returns.

Large containers of ice come to mind.

What most don't realize is the pain is always there.

You can't take away the damage.

This leads to a choice.

Wither with the pain,
 or try to grow.

I still can't feel my hands.
  Yet I make them move.

Hell,
  I can't feel my arms,
    but I am a stubborn b*****d.

I will make a garden grow.
