It might be awhile

It might be awhile

A Poem by Jon Roggie

The learning process takes time.
Cooking has went along for a few decades,
and seems to be going well.
No deaths have been reported.

Writing.

Now,
 that is a different story.
Still no fatalities,
at least as far as I know.

I am constantly learning.

To express your world in simple words...

This takes practice.

With time,
 I might get it together.
Not going to set a time limit,
but maybe when I hit the hundred year mark.

Then,
 I get to continue.

Both humour and I sense a little frustration in your lines. The art to good writing is reading. Read, read and read other poets. It's only when you can start to recognise good poetry, you can start to write it yourself. Keep practicing. I have hundreds of half unfinished poems. I keep them all, because one day, I might need them.
