Grave robbing

Grave robbing

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I still consider this.
Not going to disturb the tombstone,
but might grab the rest of the remains.
Before you judge me,
 you have to understand,
I am talking about my father.
It has been two years,
and I wonder if he is at rest.
Family is a pain in the a*s in these situations.
He wanted to be scattered in the Colorado River.
Well,
  half of him floated away.
Some wanted to hold on to him.
So part of him is buried next to his father.
 Last thing he wanted.
The funny thing is this was somehow decided by people who are not his children.
I want to scatter the rest of the ashes.

This is sad. I think it is important for a person's wishes to be carried out. I can understand that this situation causes you unrest. If the deceased has not left clear written instructions, and where there are extended families, this situation can arise. I can feel your hurt, and the fact that you have written about it shows me how much this means to you. You expressed your feelings well.
